Let it Snow? I say let it stop!

Well, we still have snow and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon. The kids loved it for the first few days. They kept saying "Mom! The sun is going to melt the snow!" The cloths dryer was going non-stop for about three days. Snowy carpets, dirty hot chocolate cups, and cold toes and fingers were abundant. Benson had a blast playing outside with the kids and building snow forts and hills in the back yard. I just stayed inside, except to take the ramdom pictures. I am not a fan of the cold white stuff. Now it is just become common place to look outside and see it everywhere. It has now become cold and brown stuff. Yuck! We seem to be having a little break though. It hasn't snowed in almost three days. Maybe we will get through Valentines Day and Lincoln's birthday(my son, not the president) without another big dump! I can always hope!

A Year End Review

Well, it has officially been more than a year since my first and last blog entry. I'm doing good! I hope, but will not promise to be better at keeping up in the coming year. So... I think I will try t0 summarize the past year. We'll just hit the highlights. Let's see....Lincoln turned 4 on the 14th of Feb. The party believe it or not was outside. I think we were flirting with 80 degrees that day. No such luck this year. We will still have several inches of snow on the ground. He had a Horton Hears a Who cake and dressed up like Mr. Incredible.
April brought Sydni's dance recital. She was so beautiful in her ballet costume. She did a ballet and tap dance. I cried. I don't know why except that she was just so dang cute and her teacher picks music that will rip your heart out. May, of course, was the end of another school year and Sydni's PELE ( her preschool ) graduation. She was Sneezy in their preschool version of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves". They wore black caps and gowns and got little diplomas. So sweet. Eden finished 1st grade with flying colors. She is my straight A student. As her reward for
making A's all year she wanted an MP3 player. Now she
is becoming a music fanatic like her daddy. She is a big fan of Taylor Swift, Hannah Montana ( of course), and she like some of Kelly Clarkson. Of coures we approve all the lyrics to make sure that they are appropriate and uplifting.
During the summer we had the usual Lovett and Parker family reunions. Parker's were here in Amarillo. Lovett's were in Oklahoma. Benson turned 30 on June 30th and we had a surprise party for him at his parents house. Oh! and Pegi, Fleur and I went to Vail, Co. for a long weekend and had a GREAT time just being girls. No one to call us mommy for three whole days. I celebrated my 30 something birthday on July 5th, and soon after we celebrated Peyton's 1st birthday on July 23rd. Little Monkey theme. I made a monkey cake which he dug into after a little encouragement from his older siblings. It was a fun day! Summer ended when the oldest three kido's stared school and then 3 days later Sydni turned 6. We had a Hello Kitty birthday cake and a cookout in the back yard with all the family. Eden started 2nd grade. Sydni started Kindergarten and Lincoln started PreK. We make 4 trips a day to the school. Drop off Eden and Sydni at 8am, take Lincoln at 12 noon, pick up Sydni at 1:45 and then back to pick up Eden and Lincoln at 3:00. It's only for one school year. That's what I have to tell myself occasionally so I don't go crazy.
The girls are taking Dance on Tuesdays and Thrusdays at 4:30-6:30. Of course Benson works late so I have all the kido's with me for those two hours. Sometimes I stay and wait, which can be really fun, and sometimes we venture to the Library or Wal-mart (lots of fun as well). Motherhood is an grand adventure that I wouldn't trade for anything in this world. I really do love it.
Halloween we did cheerleader, vampire, the white witch of Narnia, and a skeleton. We dressed up at least three times this year due to all the ward parties. Great for the kids...not so great for their teeth. Eden turned 8 on the 20th and we had a girl party at the Skateplex, just three of her girlfriends and the family. We then had a Hannah Montana cake with the family a week or so later. She got her DS that she had been saving for for a year and was so surprised. We had a wonderful Christmas. We are so blessed. The kids were spoiled rotten and we loved every minute of it. Eden then got baptised on the 26th with all the family that came from out of town for christmas in attendance. I was a blubbering idiot, of course. If I cry at dance recitals you can only imagine how I cry at somethings as special and important as the baptism of one of my children. The service was really nice and the spirit was strong. We are so proud of Eden for her decision to get baptised. We are also proud of Sydni, Lincoln and Peyton. We have the best kids! Benson and I have stayed busy as well. Benson is going to school part-time and working at the hospital. He is the ward Executive Secretary and is always on the phone making appointments for the Bishop. I am working two days a week and am the Secretary of the PTA. I also stay busy with my calling as a counsler in the Relief Society. Needless to say we have a full life. So that is our year end review. I just hope we have as good a year in 2010!
